My Story
LaRuthiea Jones is a dedicated nurse leader, mental health professional, and advocate for maternal and family health. As a mother of four daughters, she understands firsthand the importance of strong support systems for women and families. Her personal experiences, combined with over two decades in healthcare, drive her commitment to improving access to care and empowering families with the knowledge and resources they need to thrive.

LaRuthiea has more than 20 years of experience as a Registered Nurse and has served as a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) for the past six years. Throughout her career, she has worked at the intersection of healthcare, education, and community support, helping individuals and families navigate complex health systems and make informed decisions about their well-being.

Her work in prenatal and maternal health includes serving as a Home Visiting Nurse with the City of Milwaukee Health Department, where she provided direct support to expectant mothers and families during pregnancy and early parenthood. In this role, she helped families access healthcare, education, and community resources that promote healthy pregnancies and positive outcomes for both mother and child.

During her time with the City of Milwaukee Health Department, LaRuthiea also helped pilot Milwaukee’s first Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) program—an evidence-based prenatal and home visiting model originally developed in Denver, Colorado. The program focuses on improving maternal health, supporting first-time mothers, and strengthening early childhood development.

Today, as the founder of 4Less Medical Training Center, LaRuthiea continues to lead with purpose—expanding access to prenatal education, care coordination, and community-based support services designed to help families build healthier futures.
